Skinny Khaki and My Favourite Cap

Hey y'all! Hope you're all doing well!
So, I've made one of my new year resolutions to post more on my blog, and also adding to that, to post at least once a week. With that said, here's my weekly post!
My family and I were supposed to go down the hill (people up here in the high desert call going down to bigger urbanized cities such as L.A., Diamond Bar... etc anywhere but cities in the high desert as going "down the hill" because technically, we do live on a hill. Just a huge one. Think mountain-like.) but as change of plans, we couldn't make the trip. So, instead, I decided to just hang around the house, and watched a movie with my dad.
In this outfit, I'm wearing my pleather motorcylce jacket, black knitt sweater, two layered necklaces, Boston Red Sox cap, khaki skinnies, and ivory flats that I found in a big shoe box in the garage.
This is a really neutral outfit, great for any occassion, I guess. Esepecially for a "Romantic Date". Haha, I kid I kid, I joke.

Leather and Baroque

Well, long time no see again!
First semester seriously flew by like a pre-teen flipping through a Seventeen magazine... I don't know, something like that, something very swift. Quite pleased with my final grades for the semester, just hope that I can keep it up until May..! Graduation date is on May 30th, and Prom is sometime in April. Ohoho.
Well moving onto my OOTD, just decided to kick it in my cool baroque printed pants and some leather and pleather.
I've had this pleather jacket for over 3 years now, and still going strong! It's a definite staple in my closet and goes in my top ten must's for fall/winter wear. Luckily it's not super duper freezing out in the afternoon so this jacket does just the job in keeping me decently warm.
The pants are from Marshall's. Yes. Marshall's. The clothing store that you always drive by, but never have actually gone into. If you haven't been in Marshall's before, I highly recommend it! You will never know what nice things you could run into. Unless you try.
As for my boots, these babies are pretty new to the family. I got them around three weeks ago from Urban Outfitters and I've loved them ever since. They didn't look as appealing online, but I really wanted some classic black chelsea's so I just went with them, and so glad I did.
Hope everyone had a productive/safe/fun winter break, or just the past two weeks!
I really think I'm going to make a new year's resolution to make more POSTS! I keep on having these huge time gaps between all my posts.... le sigh.

Pleats In The Breeze

Gooood day, y'all. It's such a beautiful day to just kick back and hang out outside. It was a kind of windy out too, so it's not just deadbeat heat in sun city. It can get pretty hot up here in the high desert of SoCal, and since it is summer, I just wore really light-weight and hassle-free clothing. When in doubt, opt for chiffon- one of the most versatile things ever. I chose my chiffon tank top and my pleated mid-length skirt from American Apparel. This is one of the purchases I got from the American Apparel factory flea market in mid June. So glad I got it; it's such a soft and comfy skirt. For other items I wore, I just slipped into my Steve Madden gladiators, Steve Madden sunnies, my trusty gold ear cuff, and some gold rings from ASOS.

The Ombre seems to have more of the "faded" look now, FINALLY. Took over a month to get to this point, and the colors still look a bit choppy. Oh well. At this point I really don't even care anymore, haha. But I'm glad I got the Ombre done. Yolo.

Breezy Monday

I am really disappointed in my hair. I mean, I was expecting some of the actual ombre look to appear; it's been over a week since I got my hair done. But hey, putting that aside, hello Monday! Now that school's over (since June 4!), and summer has begun, Monday's are quite lovable now- students don't want to set each other on fire anymore! Yay. I didn't do much today except go out and run a few errands here and there. One plus of the day- we went to Target, and I was looking through the bag and purse section, and found a decent versatile faux leather bag! I couldn't get a picture of it because I bought it later on during the evening. In the outfit, I wore a basic maroon sort-of-crochet-croptop, some high-rise h&m shorts, new levi's light wah jacket, new black beanie, and after a long time of not wearing these, I brought out my doc marten's. This is my first time wearing them out in the summer, and I think I like the way they look on bare skin rather than over pants or leggings in the fall and winter. I also tried to use minimal jewelry (thinking that this outfit was already loud enough, though looking at it through photos, it really isn't that loud at all). I wore my silver cuff, vintage silver clip-on's, and. my gold ear cuff, which isn't shown.
I don't know why, but I always feel so invincible whenever I put my ear cuff on. It's like a lucky charm or something, not that it's given me any luck that I've noticed, but I just feel that the ear piece really does start and finish a look splendidly. I need to get myself a silver one now!

Ombre Up & Down

rings- (from left to right) forever 21, gift from a friend, jewelery stand that comes a few times a year at Costco (silver).

A perfect summer day; the temperature was about 28-32 degrees celcius (80-85 fahrenheit) with pure blue skies, and I spent most of it indoors, yes. Haha, but I was out bright and early for my physical education summer school class. We ran a mile today, and my calfs are still a bit sore- yay. Besides that, I decided to play dress up and brought this outfit up. It's been a while since I've gone out in public with my fringe up and off my forehead. I felt pretty naked... (lol). Here, I am wearing my trusty chiffon button-up from American Apparel; this top is the most versatile thing ever since my loafers which I also wore. They're my dupe for the UNIF hellraisers, and I think I did the right thing in getting these Steve Madden's over the hellraisers. These are a bit more toned down from the edgy-ness, and I will probably wear them for a long time until they wear out. The spikes are on more of a gold-ish tone, and they are blunt spikes. I had small bites of jalapeno's with my dinner tonight, and I just iched my nose, and now my nose is getting that spicy sensation... Now those are pretty hot jalapeno's! Back to the outfit, I wore my new lime-green dip-dyed shorts from XXI, which added the perfect amount of color to this outfit. Ombre head, ombre shorts- cool stuff, man.

New Hair! Welcoming Ombre

Ombre - it is a French word, pronounced om-bruh. I know that many people confuse the pronounciation as om-ber, or om-bre (which would be the better attempt at the pronounciation), but I just wanted to state this because I find it important. Back to the point, this is basically the process of making hair, or anything really, as a blend of dark to light with no harsh lines among the different level of shades. It's become a very popular trend ever since back in late 2010, and has thrived to this day! I finally decided to really give it a try myself, but not literally, I got it done progessionally. Because, I honestly couldnt trust myself with bleaching my own hair. As I believe, there isn't any other way to achieve the ombre look (unless you have very fair hair) unless you bleach you hair. I've read a lot of comments and questions adressed to other women who have ombre'd their hair and posted the tutorial on YouTube. Many viewers asked if they didn't have to use bleach, because they didn't want to damage their hair, but most of the time the answer was no. In my own experience, yes, this process is damaging, but personally, the bleach didn't harm my hair as much as I thought it would. I was expecting very frizzy ends and broken ends, but fortunately I got very minimal damage. Even my hair stylist said so! My advice, if you really think that the bleach will damage your hair, test it out on a small strand of your bottom hair. If the outcome is satisfactory, get crazy!

My hair two days (if I can recall) after ombreing/bleaching it. I got this done professionally at a Korean hair salon down in Los Angeles on Saturday June, 2nd. The stylist lady told me that I would have to wait around 7-10 days for the colors to get to a gradation, a.k.a. the whole ombre look.We shall see...

Hair update: Exactly 4 days and a half since I got my hair done. Not much change visible... My hair is beginning to get that "fake" looking blonde hair at the tips. Some strands of the blonde are getting a bit shiny, but not in a flattering way; it kind of looks like Barbie hair. I have to say, I am quite disappointed to see no change yet... Since it was my first time doing anything this BIG to my hair (I've only had highlights when I was 9, and red highlights at 13), I guess I will have to wait probably 2 weeks or so to really see some improvement and the gradation.

Saturday night

Hellooo, long time no post! To whoever is out there that actually looks at this blog... I have been quite busy these past couple weeks with catching up on school work, and many many projects that have consumed my 2 a.m. early mornings... Today was a great day to just kick it with my mom; we went to TJ Maxx, and I picked up some kick-ass jewelry and suede loafers. (silver cuff and choker shown ^) While la madre was shopping at a Korean grocery market, I decided to roam around in the Goodwill right next door to the market and found tons of great vintage jeans! I bought only one- Calvin Klein high-waisted denim pants, and I'm definitely going to hack off the legs and turn them into shorts. Boo ya. I was quite disappointed to figure out that the Versace vintage jeans were too tight on my butt, and made it look as flat as the wall... Oh well. Cheers to the next person who finds those Versace's and fits nicely in them!
